General
Where is RedeMont located?
We’re based on the Gold Coast at Varsity Lakes, Queensland. While our roots are firmly planted in South East Queensland, we work with clients across Australia.
How long has RedeMont been operating?
RedeMont has a proud 40+ year history on the Gold Coast. We were previously known as MinterEllison Gold Coast before becoming an independent firm. Our decades of experience mean we’ve been involved in many of the major projects and developments that have shaped our region.
Do you work with businesses of all sizes?
Yes. We work with everyone from large corporations and government entities to small and medium-sized businesses, property developers, franchisors and franchisees, and private individuals. Our approach is tailored to your specific needs, regardless of size.
How do you charge for your services?
We offer transparent, competitive pricing with various fee arrangements depending on the nature of your matter. These may include fixed fees, hourly rates or alternative fee structures. We’ll discuss costs upfront and keep you informed throughout your matter so there are no surprises.
Getting started
Do you offer virtual consultations?
Yes. We offer consultations via phone, video conference or in person, whatever works best for you. Many of our clients prefer the convenience of virtual meetings, and we’ve developed efficient systems to deliver the same high-quality service remotely.
What should I bring to my first meeting?
It depends on your matter, but generally any relevant documents, contracts, correspondence or background information will help us understand your situation quickly. Don’t worry if you’re not sure what’s relevant, we’ll guide you through what we need.
How do I know which lawyer is right for my matter?
When you contact us, we’ll discuss your needs and connect you with the most appropriate lawyer based on their expertise and experience. Our team works collaboratively, so you’ll have access to the right specialist knowledge for every aspect of your matter.
What happens after I contact RedeMont?
We’ll arrange a convenient time to discuss your matter, either in person, by phone or via video call. We’ll listen to understand your situation, explain your options clearly, outline potential costs and next steps, and answer any questions you have. There’s no obligation, and you’ll leave with a clear understanding of how we can help.
Can RedeMont handle all my business legal needs?
Yes. We’re a full-service law firm, providing integrated legal support across multiple practice areas. Whether you need property advice, employment support, commercial contracts or dispute resolution, we can handle it seamlessly within one trusted relationship.
Services
Will I work with the same lawyer throughout my matter?
Yes. You’ll have a primary lawyer managing your matter who understands your business and objectives. For complex matters, they may bring in experts from other practice areas, but you’ll always have one main point of contact who coordinates everything.
Can you work with my existing advisers (accountants, financial planners, etc.)?
Absolutely. We often collaborate with our clients’ accountants, financial advisers, architects, engineers and other professionals. We see ourselves as part of your broader advisory team and work seamlessly with other trusted advisers to achieve the best outcomes.
Do you provide after-hours support?
For urgent matters, yes. We understand that legal issues don’t always arise during business hours. When you’re working with RedeMont on a matter, your lawyer will provide contact details for urgent situations.
Costs and billing
Do you require funds in trust upfront?
It depends on the matter. For some matters, particularly litigation or large transactions, we may request funds in trust. For ongoing business clients and certain other matters, we may not require one. We’ll discuss this transparently when we scope your work.
Can you provide a fixed fee quote for my matter?
For many matters, yes. We regularly provide fixed fees for defined pieces of work like contract reviews, standard commercial agreements, company incorporations and straightforward property transactions. We’ll let you know if a fixed fee is appropriate for your matter.
How often will I receive invoices?
This depends on your billing arrangement. We typically bill monthly for ongoing matters, at completion for fixed-fee matters, or according to milestones for project-based work. We can discuss a billing schedule that works for your business.
What if my matter becomes more complex than originally anticipated?
We’ll let you know as soon as the scope changes. If additional work is required beyond what we initially discussed, we’ll explain why, what it involves and the additional costs before proceeding. No surprises.
