Our history
- 1983 – Our firm launched as Witheriff Nyst & Co, an independent and forward-thinking firm with high hopes for the future of the legal sector on the Gold Coast.
- 1990s – Over the next decade, our office in Southport attracted clients and rising legal stars drawn to our exceptional client service and innovative approach.
- 1997 – We entered a relationship with the MinterEllison international legal group to operate as MinterEllison Gold Coast, expanding our operations and reach as part of Australia’s biggest law firm while maintaining our independent values and approach.
- 2004 – We relocated to Varsity Lakes, near Bond University, as part of a multi-million dollar commitment to the area’s knowledge precinct.
- 2023 – We celebrated the significant milestone of our 40th year in business on the Gold Coast, operating with our third generation of Gold Coast leaders and employing around 70 people.
- 2024 – After an invaluable 26-year relationship with MinterEllison, we decided the time was right for change and launched a new name and brand which reflects our desire to shape greater outcomes.

This includes partnerships with Volunteering Gold Coast, Friends With Dignity, The Complete Men Foundation, Support The Girls, YFS, Rosies – Friends on the Street, Baby Give Back and Currumbin Wildlife Hospital Foundation.
We provide free legal advice to not-for-profit organisations through our pro bono governance program. We are proud to have established the Bond Law Clinic in collaboration with Bond University in 2013 and we partner with local universities to facilitate work experience for students.
