John is one of the most experienced executive leaders in the region. He has market-leading project, political and stakeholder engagement and risk management capability. He is sought after by both industry and government leaders for his strategic advice and counsel.
John is currently Chair of the GoldlinQ Consortium, delivering and operating the Gold Coast Light Rail project.

- Toowoomba Second Range Crossing
- Gold Coast Desalination Plant.
John was a government-appointed Director of the Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games Corporation board. He is a former Director of several prominent corporations including Sea World, Indy 300 Event Advisory Board, SureSmart Water, Energex Retail, the Queensland Transmission and Supply Corporation and served as a member of the Queensland Liquor Appeals Tribunal.
John was honoured with the award of a Member of the Order of Australia. He has received the City’s highest honour – the keys to the city and was named Gold Coast Citizen of the Year, in recognition of his extraordinary contribution to shaping the city.
