Vanessa Walsh

Vanessa represents local government and developers in Queensland and Northern NSW. She works across both jurisdictions on a range of planning and environment matters, including merits appeal and judicial review litigation, drafting and negotiating infrastructure agreements and advising clients on enforcement action for breach of planning and environmental legislation.

Vanessa has expertise in managing complex development projects, from early identification of approval pathways through to the court appeal process. She assists both developer clients and local government in achieving important commercial and strategic outcomes. She also acts in judicial review, civil enforcement and criminal proceedings involving development approvals, unauthorised development and vegetation clearing to provide early advice to assist investigations and prepare for the commencement of proceedings.

Working closely with clients and expert consultants from across the sector, Vanessa provides practical, commercial advice underpinned by a thorough understanding of the law.

Vanessa sits on the Urban Development Institute of Australia (Queensland) Infrastructure Committee  and on the Queensland Environmental Law Association Conference Sub-Committee.
