Lysa is an insurance law expert who has worked for and acted for large insurance companies and local government. Lysa also has significant private practice experience. Areas of expertise include defending public liability claims, workers compensation claims, significant property damage claims such as subsidence claims and stormwater claims.
Lysa assists large national insurers, self-insurers and local governments in providing practical advice and defending claims to obtain best possible outcomes for her clients.
She has expertise in managing complex litigation on behalf of national insurers and local governments including successful defences in several high profile cases. Lysa is experienced in negotiating favourable outcomes for clients without the need for litigation but is equally experienced in following through proceedings in the Supreme Court and Court of Appeal.
Lysa has also managed the Council of the City of Gold Coast’s insurance program including involvement in the establishment of its captive insurance program.
